August 6, 2008 was when I started reading this book, this post is a little late--but oh well.
I started reading this book because my computer was out of the house being fixed.
this particular set of notes were taken from 2 separate nights of reading it.
I'm only on page 12 and I like this book a lot. The description that's usually on the back wasn't on the book when I picked it up so I'm just going to guess what happens.
- He's single and depressed, he'll probably meet someone.
-He teaches middle school kids, and hates it. Maybe after he meets someone they'll help him enjoy it?
- He smokes a lot..kind of makes me want to smoke...(hahaha)
(page 44--Kate speaking) "And then one day I just woke up. I said to myself, I can spend the rest of my life mourning his loss or I can get on with my life. Which is what I did."
I marvel at her confidence as well Will.
(also on page 44) Kate continued: "I've never understood why people insist on saying things like, 'There's plenty of other fish in the sea.' My mum actually said that to me, you know, after I was dumped by the person formally known as 'my boyfriend.' There's me crying my heart out and all she's offering me by way on consolation was a fish metaphor!"
To all of you who offer help by throwing the fish metaphor at people, now you know that it REALLY doesn't help.
-Seriously..it took me like...maybe 30 some pages in the book to realize he lives in London....LOL
(page 77) "Sometimes the effort to resist can be as passionate as the compulsion to succumb."
Ain't that the truth. Easier said than done I'm afraid.
ps: I don't care AT ALL that Martina might be pregnant. I want to know more about him and Kate!
